Gold at Key Resistance
Gold's price action is shaped by a mix of real-yield expectations, dollar strength and safe-haven demand — which is why it often behaves differently from a typical currency pair even though it's quoted the same way (XAU/USD).
When gold approaches a well-established resistance zone, traders typically watch for one of two outcomes: a clean breakout with strong follow-through, or a rejection back into range. Volume and the speed of the approach (a slow grind vs. a sharp spike) are often read as early clues, though neither guarantees the outcome.
Because gold is sensitive to real interest rates, keep half an eye on the broader rate environment discussed in our Market Analysis fundamentals — a shift there can matter more to gold than a purely technical level.
