Why Broker Regulation Actually Matters
It's tempting to choose a broker purely on advertised spreads, but regulation determines what protections exist if something goes wrong — segregated client funds, compensation schemes, and oversight of how the broker handles your orders and your money.
Reputable regulators (like the FCA, ASIC or CySEC) require brokers to hold client funds separately from company funds, submit to audits, and follow rules around marketing and execution. That doesn't guarantee a broker is a good fit for you, but it substantially reduces the risk of outright fraud.
When comparing brokers, treat regulation as a pass/fail filter first, and spreads, platforms and account types as the criteria you compare within that filtered set — not the other way around. Our Broker Comparison page lists regulation for every listed broker up front.
